It was a dream coming true. Getting married, wearing this beautiful white dress and sharing love on an amazing location. And now I can share the Wedding photography with you!
Preparing a wedding in less than a month (!)
Finding that photographer who understands you, who is able to capture every important moment and at the same time not even noticing that he or she is arround. That’s for me something what was so vulnerable during this wedding. And we were lucky, extremely lucky to found that special photographer. And her name is Ilka van Wieren. When I first met Ilka we directly had a good connection. It was kind of last minute because we arranged Our Dutch Wedding in less than a month (!).
This because the renovation of Our Cairo Home tooks much longer and in the mean time we also had to move from our Dutch home. Yes I can honestly say that the first 3 months of 2017 where a challange! But now, looking back at this wonderful day makes me proud. We did it! And how… Even more valuable is the fact that we have these amazing photo’s as a memory of this special day. And now we share them with you!

As I said above, we were so lucky with Ilka. She is so talented and you can’t imagine how happy we were when we saw these photo’s. It started with a sneak peek we received about a week or two after the wedding. Those photo’s already showed what this day was all about : Love. Beside that she captured litterly everything what was important that day. From a photoshoot before the actual celebration, the ceremony and the beautiful words from my mom. But also the unforgettable happiness in the eyes of my sick grandmother, who is now not with us anymore. You can imagine how much those photo’s mean to me. And also the sweet friends and family who all where happy and enjoying this day. Everybody who was with us this day we see find back on the photo’s.
The style of the photography of Ilka is what I loved the most when I visited her website for the first time. When I scrolled on her instagram I directly knew she’s the one for us. It’s funny to see the difference with my own photography work. I love bright and white but for the wedding I prefer this story telling talent from Ilka.
Always by your side
This cool redish bus is a nice symbol for this special day. It reflects for me the fact that no matter what we will be together. Wherever we’re traveling to ( with the bus ) if it’s Holland, Egypt or any other direction. It’s so special to find that strong connection with someone and being able to trust on the path where life leads you. Being married to my Mahmoud makes me the happiest woman in the world <3 And I am curious where life will bring us.
”Dear Ilka, thank you so much for making our day unforgettable. You’re so talented, I already said that many times before. The way you capture, and how you see things through the lens is a gift. I am so happy we have met and that you was with us during this special day. Good luck in your career. And hopefully we will meet again for another photoshoot, maybe a loveshoot or a family shoot one day ;)” And for all the newly brides who are going to get married and still looking for a wedding photographer.
