Home Decor ideas with velvet cushions
In my previous post I shared the concept of my own velvet textile trend collection in collaboration with Inca and Co. In this post you can find out how to shop these cushions. Also I will show different inspiration images of how to style them in your own home. What I love about this collection is that they easily can be combined together. The colourpalette of camel, blue tones and ocher really fits my style at home. Because of the mix of colours I am sure there’s a design that will fit your home style too.
This ‘Art of the desert’ cushion looks really nice on the white sofa combined with a offwhite cushion and soft blue throw. The white makes sure the blue really pops out and it’s balanced with the white tones in this velvet fabric. As you can see the cushion looks amazing with the Minty Breeze wall colour ( Jotun ) but it will also looks great with the famous Early Dew from Flexa.
Colour contrast on the sofa
Beside the soft pastel look of the previous two photo’s it’s also nice to create a bit more contrast with these velvet cushions. For example, this ‘Wall of History’ cushion has more contrast in the design with it’s ocher yellow and turquoise tones. Perfect to match with this green/turquoise throw on a white sofa. And to let it blend in with other colours it’s good to create a balance and divide the colours over the room. So on the marble round coffee table I put a white vase with a yellow flower. And the Minty Breeze colour of the chairs in the back matches the cushion too. That’s what I love in an interior, to create a good balance with colours.
Soft pastels on a grey bench
Styling with pastels at home is always a good idea. Somehow pastel colours always add that modern aesthetic touch to any interior. Combined with white it will get a more brighter Scandinavian look. Well that’s what I thought with these two cushions ‘Nubian Spices’ and ‘Engraved Stories’. They look amazing together, don’t they? Beside putting cushions on your sofa you can also decorate other corners in your home with them. Textile can be used everywhere. So I but this grey wooden bench next to the window and put the two cushions on there. The light linen curtains creates the ultimate summer look. Add a dreamcatcher and an oriental pouf. And voila : The perfect styling for your summer home!
Pure Materials
I love the power of colour and the ability to change a mood by adding different colours. So in this corner of Our Home I created this nature inspired corner. This corner is filled with pure materials such as wood, leather, wool and velvet (yeey!). I love how the colour of this cushion somehow change when you look from different sides. Because of shiny character of velvet it gives you a different look. More darker from one side, and more brighter from the other side. I love this ‘Engraved Stories‘ cushion on my leather butterfly chair. As you can see, you don’t have to combine the cushion always with other cushions. Sometimes a pretty bright throw is enough to make it look good in your home.
