Handmade souvenirs from Valencia
Two weeks ago I have spend an amazing holiday together with my best friend Naomi in Valencia. We have had an amazing time and like I wrote in a previous blogpost. This holiday made me realize some things have to change. Especially the balance between work and private life. Naomi and I have a special connection with Valencia, no idea why. I love the city, it’s not to big, but big enough to spend a long ‘citytrip’ for one week. This is because it has so many different beautiful parts, like the old center, the industrial / vintage area Ruzafa. But also the beach and a lot of small streets filled with inspiring stores and restaurants and cafe’s.
I already wrote some blogposts about Valencia before. And here I share a video about our city trip! A good memory. And not even the video, also the handmade souvenirs we brought home with us are special.
Unique pieces with a story
I love to put unique pieces in my home which are telling a story. This can be a story from family and a personal value, for example the suitcase on this photo belongs to my grandfather which he used when he was younger. But also products which I brought with me from travels, handmade souvenirs, are telling a story because it reminds me of a place I have been to. And a new product in my home is this cactus. I have found this cactus made of esparto grass in conceptstore Simple in area El Carmen in Old Valencia.
Simple conceptstore Valencia
Two years ago when I visited Valencia with Naomi too we have visited this store for the first time and we were in love. Conceptstore Simple is a beautiful store filled with products which are made by local designers. A great concept and all the products are so pure and made with beautiful materials mostly from the nature. That time I have brought the ocher yellow planthanger which I hung behind my sofa in the livingroom. But now it was time for more handmade souvenirs from Valencia.
This time we have visited this store again ofcourse. And do you know that moment when you see something and you really need to have it? And I mean really? Well that happened when I saw this cactus, it’s so cute, so sophisticated and I already knew It would look amazing in my home.
Nothing is impossible
Not when it comes to home decoration hihi. Naomi asked me how I will bring this with me home? As we have only one suitcase of 20kg each and already brought a lot of stuff. I didn’t think about it and I was sure that I was about to find a solution. And as you can see, I did 😉 What do you think of this cactus in front of my green wall? ( J0.10.60 Flexa) Let me know in the comments! Do you also bring handmade souvenirs back home with you from a city trip? Curious which one you like the most!
